We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon, which was a complete paradise! We stayed at the Hale Koa Hotel on Oahu, which was right on the ocean. We found an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet on the beach that we went to almost every morning. At night, we tried out a Japanese seafood restaurant and "The Yard House" in Waikiki. We even found a Hard Rock Cafe... hmmm... those tend to pop up just about anywhere Kurt plans a trip to... coincidence? Connie will never know! :)
One day, we put the top down on the jeep and drove to Weimia Bay. Kurt went cliff jumping, we snorkeled and saw sea turtles. It was amazing! After, we went and snorkeled Shark's Cove. That wasn't nearly as exciting because there were so many people, you didn't actually see any sharks... you just bumped into the other tourists and got scraped up against the jagged rocks. We preferred Weimia :)
We went to a luau which was such a blast! They slow roast the pig all day long and then when it's time for the luau to begin, they bring the pig out of the ground and everyone is seated and served. We had dinner and enjoyed a singer and Polynesian dancers from all across the islands and a guy that did stunts with a fire torch. It was so much fun!!
We took a trip around the whole island one day. We drove the H3 (or was it H2?) route, which was absolutely amazing! The clouds just hung on the tops of the mountains, as shown here, making for a really beautiful trip. We tasted some fresh pineapple and coconut juice from a local stand on the side of the road and we went swimming on the North side of the island, where the waves were incredible!
The highlight of the trip for Connie, was when Kurt surprised her on their last day in Hawaii, by taking her swimming with the dolphins! We got in the water with them and did tricks, had them pull us through the water and got our pictures taken with them. It was unforgetable!!
KURT IS AMAZING!! THIS WAS THE BEST VACATION EVER!!!:D
